First ride for what seems like ages due to a cold, and it was a night ride with Dave, Pete and John.

We started from the War Memorial in Penrhyncoch and headed up via Banc y Darren. It was icy in a few patches along the road but not too bad, but once we got onto the forest tracks we were reduced to walking, sliding and skating more often than not.

The descent to the top of the Mark of Zorro was pretty treacherous as was the Mark of Zorro itself. The leg-burner was really icy too but rideable along the edges in the snow.

Just that bit took quite a while and it wasn't great out there so we decided to head back down along the road. John had come off a couple of times and hurt his hip too so was keen to get home. Amazingly the road was fairly clear but we still took it easy all the way down just in case.

Not the best of rides, but better than not going out at all, and the first diary entry from anyone so far in December - All this cold weather has certainly put the stop to many of our activities!
